We weren’t so wrong, really. We were almost right.
College life was supposed to be fun, wasn’t it?
Maybe the third dinner would help, but probably not.
I wore sweatpants all year. I didn’t even notice.
“Some things are obvious” was his “I love you.”

“I’m getting divorced,” he said. “You are?” I said.
It wasn’t everything I dreamed, but what ever was?
“Does everyone have so many bad habits?” I wondered.
The curling iron was never on. I still checked.
I didn’t have to stay there. I could leave.
“How many master’s degrees are you going to get?”
I choose with every damn time. I choose with.
I want to hear more background on these stories. They are beautiful! They read just like a poem!

How many Masters degrees? hahah! Story of my life! I don’t want a Phd but i have no problem stacking on the MAs
I go back and forth on the PhD thing all the time. It seems the next logical step. Or perhaps another master’s degree…
